electrical problem with 99 plate 600 bandit n

hi i am new to the forum,i have only just discoverd it whilst i was looking online for advise for a problem with my bandit and hope to make new friends and hopefully get some advise about my problem as i am an all weather biker and meet alot of bikers at the biker cafe at abbergavenny bus station south wales.I have an intermittent problem with starting my bike, sometimes it will start first time with no problems and other times it will turn over but willnot start.When it runs it runs perfectly,all electrical systems are working there is no problem with fuel when it starts,battery is good but sometimes i have to press the start button 5-15 times then it will start perfectley with no throttle or choke and run perfect.Has any one come across a similar problem

how old is the battery exactly ?

Might be the air screws are not quite right, have they they been checked recently?, bike been serviced, valve clearances, new plugs etc?. If it starts eventually and idles with no throttle or choke from cold then something is wrong and it's on the rich side, same if it's warm you usually use a whiff of throttle to get it running.

as above,
i personally would give it the once over routine maintenance prep for winter.

starting with
oil and filter change
valve clearances (easy on a bandit)
strip and clean the carbs
balance the carbs
change the plugs
clean air filter
check and clean the terminals on battery and starter relay

do the basics first and go from there
