Ok so i have a budget of around 3k for a new bike,

Wadda ya suggest?

Looking at about 2003 Yamaha r6's, maybe up to 05 if i find a bargain
2005 Kawasaki c1h 636 if I'm lucky, or the 03-04 b1h 636
03-04 Honda cbr600rr

What do you good, law abiding, non cat killing citizens of bcf reckon?

Any other recommendations?

And I'm gunna get bum raped for insurance on any motorbike so I'm prepared for that (prepared as in listing all the damned insurances and phoning every single one up lol)

Many thanks Mr. Green

EDIT: To say I'm looking for a sports bike, currently riding an sv650 so would like more now. Nothing too old, I like the more modern sports bikes look and would like FI as well.

FI! You'd probably want to be back on carbs after you've ridden the early FI bikes. Hondas hare VERY glitchy!

B1H is where i'd put my money at since it's a cult bike and will be a future classic. Save the money and spend your savings on "personalising it" - suspension tweaks will go a long way on that bike. The total package is the sum of its components.

But depending on your age and NCB, an early thou can be pretty tempting! (I got my blade at 22 with 2 years NCB and a claim... as a student, £500 TPFT was a bloody bargain!)

True I did hear Honda's FI is a bit rough!

I'm looking at the Kawaks, but its seems i can usually find a C1H for only a few hundred more than most B1h's, which does make it a tough choice Laughing

I was looking at early thou's and 750's before I had my accident, now I've got a claim and no NCB its pretty much out of the question. (where as no claim and 1 year's NCB made a gsxr 750 very temping)

i was in love with my b1h though it was rock solid at the rear, saw my ass off the seat regulary on some country roads

its a shame the C1h doesnt have the looks of the b1h Sad as by all accounts is a better road bike due to more suitable suspension, slipper clutch etc etc

I'm looking at similar bikes, check out the RSV1000 because I got quoted the same as a ZX6 C1H

Daytona 600/650's are nice and a bit different and cheapest to insure. Out of B1/C1 the C1 has more stuff like slipper clutch and better suspension and importantly the under seat exhaust Laughing

Exactly what someone else suggested, an rsv, but id like to leave room for an upgrade/change etc. And would like to try a full on sports bike first (even though the rsv is a good bike from what i read)

And i love the under seat exhaust Laughing Very Happy
