I've only ever owned il4's and one triple, which i've become very used to delivery wise and know how to ride them.

Something i've always done naturally is blip and change down when braking for a corner etc, since picking up the boxer twin i've found this not such a good idea..........

Teh engine braking is a bit more severe and for the past week i have been fishtailing and locking the back wheel, having to remind myself not to change down - also blipping the throttle is not really a good idea as when you rev the btwin it likes to pull the center of gravity of the bike off center.

Don't get me wrong i like different and its fun re-learning and given time i'm sure i'll readapt in no time.

Let the clutch out more slowly. Wink

I'm sure Sigma/suter do a slipper clutch for them.

Are you sure you're not just changing down earlier due to a shorter rev-range rpm-wise?
I found I had to concentrate more to stop the back end chattering on the r6/675 than SV650 - which would suggest it was power at the point you drop down that was important.

As G said down shifting at 5000rpm on an in line 4 isn't a problem. Doing so on a twin or single will be a brown trousers moment.

Ok, so i'm getting used to it - handling is superb and changing my riding style seems to be working, G i think i might have been changing down early, always done it by ear/feel before so been checking till its second nature also using less brake and letting the engine do the rest seems to be good - also getting used to /not/ having to change down so much.

It does like being on the redline, but thats only like 8k and its a boxer, so it should take some abuse Shifty

Tis still a tad odd though and vibey isn't the word.

Aside from this i'm having to relearn where buttons and switches are as the crazy germans have done them over too, self canceling indicators quite cool though.
