Bandit Cutting Out?

Hi Guys - Any help will be appreciated.

I have a 1996 Bandit 600, i bought it a couple weeks ago and it is in good condition. I passed my test last week so have just started riding it, all was well until today when on a ride out the bike started going groggy and eventually died on me. i pulled up and it kept starting but straight away dieing again?

If i leave it for like 10 mins it will go again for a couple miles then dead?

I thought it might have something to do with fuel? the person who i bought the bike off said the fuel had been in there for sometime so i put some new fuel in over the old fuel.

Any suggestions?

Nah its got half a tank in there,
Im gunna try and clean the carbs and jets. Then drain all the fuel and put some fresh in there

Yeah float chamber in the carb may not be filling as well as other possible fuel flow related issues like fuel filter.
Check air filter and battery.

So as previously mentioned start by giving the carbs a good cleaning and blow out the main jets and scrape those float chambers out..
