4 stroke 50cc reliable scooter?

Hi,

thanks to the help of the generous people on this forum ive decided to go for a cheapish, reliable, 50cc scooter.

I don't know too much about bikes and ive been looking over google and all the 50cc four strokes i can find are either really old or are retro style.
I just want a modern 50cc four stroke.

Are there any around?

prefebaly something modern and reliable like a honda.

Have a look at the piaggio zips they do a 4stroke 50 and even the 2 smokers are pretty reliable form my experiance anyway also these go fairly cheap good luck.

Why a 4 stroke may i ask, i have one but thats only because i got a cheap chinese one for £700 brand new and didnt know 2 strokes are quicker and faster, it goes very well, looks slightly like a speedfight 2 and is about as quick as a two stroke but lacks the hill climbing skill of a two stroke, but it does sound nicer and quieter. 2 strokes are more responsive, four strokes dont need to be refilled with oil all the time.

If you want a reliable scooter, get a bog standard Italian 2 stroke. No stupid exhaust, no air filter, no big bore kit.

It will be economical and reliable, self serviceable even for a n00b and cheap to repair when it goes wrong.

Have you considered the Peugeot Kisbee or the V-Clic? If you go to the Peugeot Scooters website there are vouchers for £250 pounds off - valid until the end of this month. They look like a good option. If you find something better let me know because I'm also looking for the same sort of thing as you.

4 stroke 50cc scooter = slow with no potential to make it faster however it will be cheap to run.

Personally I'd go for any of the modern 50cc 2 strokes, they are as reliable as 4 strokes if you just keep them topped up with oil and keep on top of basic maintainence. The 2 stroke wil also be more lively and if you wish to go faster then it is very easy to increase top speed considerably but at 16 that would be illegal.

Have a look at Yamaha Jog RR, Gilera Runner, Peugeot Speedfight 2 and 3, Yamaha Aerox etc etc. Parts easily available and easy to get plus will be easy to repair if they go wrong.

Avoid scoots that have been tuned by 'ped bois' like the plague
