First Commute Tomorrow

Morning All

I'm back at work tomorrow after my 2 weeks paternity leave and will be starting to use my Honda XR 125 to commute.

I'm hoping for a few dry/nice days to gain some experience before the bad weather starts.

End of pointless post, awaiting cool story bro pic.

a friend of mine is a midwife and she has told me some horror stories that nearly put me off women... nearly..... for about 5 mins.... then i got drunk and forgot.

My daughter being born.. Best thing ever. I can't believe she's 18 months old now.. and she's sooo much more fun now than as newborn. Just wait till little one calls "Daddy!" for the first time.. You'll melt.

My first commute on my 125, slipping through traffic and halfing my journey time to work.. aaahh.. Beautiful.

A little one and a motorcycle, many reasons to be happy.
But that little one is a BIG reason to be careful mate

I can't say there was many places that were hit hard by the salt, I made sure to clean it at least every week. I think spokes took quite a hit, try keep them clean and salt-free.

Might be worth investing in some ACF-50 or a similar product to keep it looking lovely. Do a search on the forum, there are many a post about ACF-50, highly rated stuff!

Iv had a XR for going on two years! Amazing little bike! Never let me down in the 13,000 miles I have done on it! thought of upgrading a few times but always changed my mind! Iv ridden it in all weathers including when it snowed! It gripped pretty well in the white stuff!

you will be fine. Some people bitch about the stop speed but mine gets 60/65mph on the flat so thats fine for me!

The bike is light though, when the wind picks up you will know about it lol

I can relate to everything their mate, including little one. My girl is an absolute joy to have around.. especially now she's 18 months and she communicates and does so much, you'll be amazed.

I used Wurth rain/water repellant on my visor when the weather looks like it might come down. It puts like a film over your visor and the droplets just bounce/run off it, its handy.

Always bare in mind your stopping distance is massively affected, not to sound like a safety bore but I've learnt that the hard way. F*cking back tyre locks and you just keep goooiing haha.

And i didn't filter properly for months mate, its a massive confidence thing and if your not too confident doing it you'll likely clip someone! I've done it.. luckily it was very light and the woman just laughed

The CBF is awesome, i'm craving more power now though but it's gonna have to wait financially. However, I'm so used to the bike now i can handle it very well. Mastered clutchless shifting recently which was fun.
Heading to a Honda Owners gathering on thursday evenin i think, to gorp at some nice bikes

Oh.. and i've stalled in front of a pub.. not once but literally 5/6 times in a row during my first month riding.. Oh the horror.

BUT - worse... haha.. Is I had my bike parked in a pub car park... loads of people in the beer garden it was a glorious day. I got all geared up and people kept lookin over and generally watching... I felt under pressure to look cool haha.

So anyway i got on my bike, set of - CLUNK. Disc Lock alarm still on. Momentum through me forward, i stumbled over the bars and me and the bike decked it. To a crowd of maybe 15 people. Grim.
