of course , i will do
1) find the horrible shunt on the red connector and take it off
https://www.geneva-racing.ch/~alains/shuntr.jpg
2) buy a CI626 and throw away your CI626A (ebay uk)
3) buy carbon membranes for the reeds
https://cgi.ebay.de/100-Carbon-Membrane-Honda-NSR-125-R-JC22-036-/120546013795?pt=Motorrad_Kraftradteile&hash=item1c111a3263
4) buy new jets : main=138,idle=42,power=65 see https://www.dellorto.co.uk your carb is a 28PHBH/FD
5) use only BR9EIX plugs
https://motors-parts.shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=BR9EIX&_sacat=131090&_sop=10&_dmpt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&_odkw=honda+nsr&_osacat=131090&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
then the rest will a question of precise tuning

thankyou alains for your reply.i have read on here that there was a guy who tryed the 1626 and 1626a and he found the 1626 made no difference so he sold it and used the 1626a so would that be ok to use?also if i do use the 1626a do i need to disconnect the orange/white wire on there that is in a loop?so just to check ive got to unrestrict the exhaust or change for another one.take out the plate in the air intake.upjet.use carbon reeds.and use a br9eix spark plug.and find and disconect the red connector shunt.if i do have to use a 1626 is it a straight plug in and go or is there any wire swapping to do?when you say presice tuning do you have anymore details sorry for all the questions just want to be sure before i start thanks for your help

not a lot and it doesnt worth the expenses . you need a new manifold (from CR125 2002) , a new special
VHSB34 Special Racing carburettor Part No - R9784R £189.98
your gain may around 3 Bhp , top speed +6-7 MPH

it was me who bought the 626 to replace the 626a, i honestly couldnt tell a difference between the two.

The orange/white wire on the 626a is one of the biggest restrictions of all, you can get at it to pull it off by just removing the seat IIRC. Its only a small loop, and i believe it is for a black box that they have in germany to restrict to 50mph, but even with the black box not installed and the wire just in a loop, it still has a pretty strong effect on the power.

To remove the intake plate you will most probably be faced with security bolts that can only be tightened and not undone so you have to devise a way to get those out.

what year is the bike?. Not sure if there were any differences in restrictions from year to year but im going by mine which was a 2001 bike on an 04 plate

I sold it a few years back, but yes, it ran fine with the 626a, if there is a difference between that and the standard 626 it isn't noticable so definately not worth the extra money you would spend on the replacement.

the shunt in the black box is just a little red 2 pin connector with a small loop of red/white wire coming out the top and it unlocks the powervalve servo, giving you way more top end power, the connector may not be in the black box as it can sit loose if someones been in there before so just look around that general area, also someone may have already removed it but the other half of it will still be there if they have.

The little orange/white wire on the cdi gives you more low down power and really makes the bike more useable round town.

ridiculous . here in france & switzerland we made power test with the proper tools and the CI626A give the same diagram as the CI639 . the CI626 was made to work with the TV78 . in switzerland in order to limit power they built a shunt to avoid the TV78 opening & closing the flaps correctly . so without the flaps working , you need a different diagram of ignition (so was the CI626A made for) , and consequently if you get your flaps working , you need a CI626 diagram . so , all comments from "pseudo" experts are bull shit Cool

what do i know, i only owned the bike for 2 years and spend pretty much all that time figuring out how to derestrict it Rolling Eyes , and as i remember most of the restrictions on my swiss model were new to you . The 2 CDI's felt identical with the orange/white loop removed from the 626a unit. I dont want to go against alains as he does know an awful lot about nsr's but i am telling you from first hand experience that the difference is not noticable.... why would i lie?
