I've always preferred to be stroked at least 4 times. 2 strokes, and i'm left frustrated.

Impossible to answer this as both methods have advantages and disadvantages.

2 stroke can produce more power for less cc
But 4 stroke is generally more reliable.

Cost is a factor 2 stk cheaper to produce than 4 stk.

Emmisions are what gubbs 2 strokes.
Purely due to the way the fuel is mixed and the lubrication.

Diesel 2 strokes are hampered by emissions so are not as common now as before. (And they are durty fukin' bastarts to work on.)

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I prefer smaller lighter bikes, so 2 strokes are more fun for me.,

Have to admit being less keen on the image created by the tinny noise, which I like but non-bikers think sounds less powerful.

I'm scared of rebuilds, and not keen on having to fork out for 2stroke.

Having said that, for outright power on fast roads, I'd prefer to be on a 4 stroke.

For learners, 2 stroke is the way to go, as 4 stroke 125's have hardly any power and cant keep up with in town traffic.

I live in a town by the sea on top of cliffs. It's extremely hilly where I am, esspecially if you get into the top part of town. And the dual carriageways near me are in the wide open and very high up so the wind really slows you down even when your going downhill..

Living by the sea may affect the performance of any engine due to more dense air mass at sea-level.
This will affect 2 stroke and four stroke equally.


Were you referring to any particular reason seaside/clifftop life affects engine design?

I THINK 4 Strokes are better, usually more reliable (especially comparing the RS125 to the CBR125 for instance). Sound a lot better too.
