Yamaha FZX750

Greetings,

I have just bought myself a used Yamaha FZX-750 in my favorite vacation destination. Looking forward to cruise around on it.

Also, the bike may only be used a few weeks each year during my vacation and I'm wondering:

Is there something I should do when I start the bike for the first time after a year? ...or last things before I park it for a year? Disconnecting and removing the battery is probably a good idea, but thats where my wits end.

Would it be preferable or make a difference if someone tok the bike out for a short spin for example once a month?
