You bought an R1 that you don't even know works? Was it £500 or something?
Hawk sounds like a cheapo alarm, find the main unit and then remove each wire as you trace it, rejoining any wires that have been cut and had 2 alarm wires connected to the cut ends (immobilisation circuits). It should all become obvious when you look, although saying that i'd have thought making sure a bike works before you buy it is obvious too.
I wouldn't bother replacing the alarm for another similar one. |

Also, just had a thought. Some of the cheaper alarms immoblise from the fuse box. Trace the wires back from the alarm box. And if any go into the fuse box cut them and insert the missing fuse. Bob's your uncle.
