James Bond.

Moonraker is on the TV just now which for me is the superlative Bond caper. Totally farfetched with the ever sauve Patrick Moore in the driving seat, he's just made off to meet a Dr Goodhead which will be a female for sure.

What more do you want, even Jaws is in this Bond film and the baddy is called Drax! Drax for Gods sake!! It sounds sinister even although it would be a good name for a detergent.

Whats your favourite Bond film then?

Thumbs Up

PS: I'm not really interested, I'm just making small talk in between monitoring the imagery in that filthy thread above/below. Wink

I loved the Bonds where there was water involved. Not sure why but always found it exciting. I know the one with jaws focused quite a bit on water & then the one with the underwater building (Octopussy?)

Die Another Day was god damn awful. The new Daniel Craig movies are surprisingly good tho.

Casino Royalé was good. Not so sure about the second one he did (I can't remember the title.) The highlight for me in that film must be where the baddie sticks an axe in his own foot. Laughing

The best one is The Man With The Golden Gun I reckon. Just the right side of preposterous.

Goldeneye would be my favourite, but that's probably bias as it was the first one I saw at a rather young age.

earlier bond (connery & moore ) are the best
later ones got too OTT with the gadgets to be realistic

Speaking of gadgets, when is this new Bond going to get some? I hear a new film is being made for 2012. Would be cool to include some believable yet cool gadgets.

No remote control or invisible BMWs please. Or even worse, a huge laser coming down from space that causes a tidal wave. Shocked

Would love to see a similar Bond to Octopussy although that would seem out of place with this new Bond. Hope they do liven things up tho.

I do apologise, I was 3 when GoldenEye was released, so I would imagine I saw it a couple years after, I believe I watched it on VHS! Laughing.

Bloody hell, you're making me feel old now, and I was only 10 when it came out Laughing

Still probably my favourite though, closely followed by casino royale. I also like Timothy Dalton's two, hell I like them all!

The amusing thing with the gadgets, is a few years down the line they start appearing more plausible. The remote control BMW is certinly possible, and I believe invisibilty cloaks have been made, although with very restrictive forms as of yet.

License to kill... cos I can't sleep Very Happy

It's always worth remembering that if you worked with someone who came out with the awful puns that Bond does, you'd think he was a right cock. Especially the ones just after he's killed someone.

Hi

Moor and Connery ones for me, Gadgets got a bit much in the late Pierce Brosnan ones.

Not keen at all on the Daniel Craig ones. They seem to have switched to being so proud of their real stunts that they haven't bothered with anything else.

All the best

Keith

Can I just say that Pierce Brosnan is by far the worst Bond. He ruined Bond. They might as well have used a cardboard cutout for all of the acting skill he shows.

Goldeneye, ugh. Its got some good baddies but the effects were terrible and Brosnan was awful... I don't even want to mention the other three Brosnan films as they were far far worse than Goldeneye... Sick

No one has mentioned George Lazenby yet.

His is a seriously underrated bond film.

And we need to have the who is the best Bond argument too. Being Scottish I'm supposed to prefer Sean Connery but I grew up with Roger Moore, he was way cooler and gets my vote.

You always knew if a certain type of film had been on the night before by how school kids behaved. If it was Enter The Dragon, we'd all be ninjas, Indiana Jones? We'd be whipping each other (in the most innocent way.) Star Wars, light sabre fights.

A Roger Moore bond film had me at every opportunity doing the 'Moore Eyebrow Raise' to any and every query or question I was asked. I thought it was cool.

Thumbs Up
