I park my car in an underground car park as I live in a flat. Some fucking dick head has reversed (at some speed by the looks of it) into my bike.

It stayed upright as I have it chained to a metal girder with 4 chains. The only damage it has is a rip on the left grip and it feels as though the handle bars have been bent.

When I sit on the bike with the wheel straight, my left hand is now further forward than the right.

I'm trying to work out whether the left side of the bars have been bent forward, or whether they've been hit so hard that they're not aligned with the wheel any more. Is the latter even possible?

If they're not bent the forks may have twisted in the yokes. I think I read to straighten them you can undo the pinch bolts on either the top or bottom yoke BUT NOT BOTH and then bounce the front end which settles them back straight.

Other than that just take the grips and switchgears off the bars to have a look. You could take the bars off and place them on something flat to see if they look straight.

Check the forks first. It really is not easy to bend handlebars.

I'll check the forks first.

CCTV might be tricky, as it's happened within the last 4 days I think. So it'd mean asking the caretaker to trawl through days of footage. I'll still mention it to him though and see what he says.
