Three 'bastards' playing Hendrix.

I've seen them all live at one time or another, and its certainly annoying how good they are (althoguh they can be an aquired taste). Vai will always be my fave though.

I know that when I play I'm not perfect but the way I see it is. If I can play a song well enough that people around me know what I'm playing and can sing along to then I'm satisfied. I may not get the strumming right or the pick pattern right but its close enough that the song is recognisable.

I'm by no means a perfectionist and never intend to be. I play for fun not to be note perfect.

I use the same method. I have an snazzy electric I rarely use but I do often pick the acoustic up and play along while the origional plays on youtube.

I commented on the vid too. You look just how I imagined you would. lol.

You get a minds eye about the way people that post here actually look like. Rarely its close to real life but old pink looks how I imagine him too!

he looks like me in 10 years!.... oh ok like me in 2 years....... oh bugger it.... like me 10 years ago! Thumbs Up

I once owned a Malmsteen strat a few years ago, horrible thing to play so I hate him even more for doing it on a scalloped fretboard. Always been a fan of the fat Swede though.

Old pink looks like me with a beard.

This can be taken as both a compliment and insult. Nice playing though.

The king of over the top, fret wankery is right here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb5QaCfm7bg

And this is taken from his instructional DVD so I expect all you fellow guitar players to take note and we should all be aiming to nail these techniques and post our results in the forthcoming weeks! Rolling Eyes
