Was looking on bing maps figuring out a route to get from college to my girlfriends the quickest way, and i stumbled across this.

The road in question is a the A167(M) just before it meets the A1058 in newcastle city centre, in this photo all lanes are traffic flowing toward the top right of the pic (NW), except the very closest lane which flows the other way (SE).

Note the white can circled in red who appears to have managed to get into a head on situation with vehicles coming up the slip road.

Is is just me missing something or is this what it appears to be?

They're not touching, doesn't look like they ever did.

Car at top right is also a ghost.

I say the roads closed, I don't have a clue why the vans facing the wrong way. It must have been used as a car park sort of thing.

Google street view at the beginning of the slip road.

I see what's happened here, Bing is so utterly shit that they have managed to fuck up taking a photo.

All lanes go in the same direction including the nearest one so the van didn't come from the opposite direction, it's been turned around and parked that way, the road is closed as mentioned. The top of it doesn't need closed barriers as it's an entry slip only, nothing would turn down it.
