OK sold my bandit on ebay, some guy from Poland bought it, checked his feedback and it's 100% he buys bikes over here all the time.

My question is how do I fill the V5 out? I know I have to keep the purrple bit and send that off to the D.V.L.A but is there any other sections I have to fill in.

Cheers AJ

I sold a bike to a guy who took it to Spain.

This is what we did and I remember reading about it and calling the DVLA at the time, they confirmed this

We wrote an export statement on a word doc, where he bought the bike, the VIN, from whom (my address as well) and when. Both of us signed and dated it. (This is so he could get the bike through to Spain and register it there).

We took copies of both our driving licences and addresses. (Again so he could prove who he had bought the motorcycle from).

Gave him the whole V5 but took a photocopy of it in case.

Wrote to the DVLA with my address, Reg + Vin number of sold vehicle, his address details and when the sale was made and that the vehicle was destined for export to spain

Ariba.. 2 weeks later got a letter in the post saying the vehicle no longer registered in my name.

P.S. the VIN needs to match the V5 or he will not be able to register it abroad.

How weird. I was just talkin about this very thing today. I'm picking up my new bike next monday and wondering about the V5. This has pretty much answered it for me.

Cheers.

Be wary, they Polish cunts are dodgy fuckers.

I have a few Polish mates and they know every trick in the fucking book.

Just kidding.

Like everyone else said; just send your bit away and it should be fine.

Might find that he is just going to sell the bike on again to make a profit over there if it is hard to get that type of bike there.
When I used to own a Impreza there was only 1 Subaru dealership in the whole of Poland (in Warsaw) despite the size of the country and I have heard that apparently these cars were seen as being fairly special cars over there due to how rare they were (probably how we look at Ferraris over here) whereas we just look at Imprezas as slightly more expensive boy racer cars.
