My (nearly) ten year old, 130000mile renault megane coupe passed its MOT first time.

Got a couple of advisories, but nothing major (one of them was for the pheasant dent/hole in grille and another was for having a car seat in so they couldn't check the belt). I'm simply stunned. The car gets very little tlc and just keeps on going!

I genuinely thought that the running gear/chassis/axles etc would've turned to dust by now! Even the emissions are low which is impressive considering the original exhaust/cat is still on there!

Having owned this car for nearly 10years and having racked up 110000miles on it, I really don't think I could bring myself to sell it on when the time comes. I reckon I'll gently remove her heart and turn the block into a glass topped end table and scrap the rest of her. I'm not normally sentimental about machines in my life, but I'm madly in love with my little french pile of crap!

Anyway, just got to tax it now...

I thought it was quite an achievement (mostly due to the renault part of the car). I hate MOTs at the best of times. Let alone when it's a crappy old heap your getting tested!

Sounds like my old Peugeot 406 HDi, 130k miles and still flying through every MOT. I was gutted to sell it but I still got over a grand Mr. Green

Cheers

They get to a ravine, the bridge is down and a caption pops up that says, 'What are you thinking?'. I don't know about you but I was thinking, 'Christ, I'm glad I'm not in the f***ing army'.
