I'm just wondering if the earlier ETZ petrol tank will fit on the later 251 frame?
I am now putting my 251 back on the road for the winter after rebuilding it and my brother crashing it half an hour later Shocked

It's not a major problem but that petrol tank is so ugly that it just annoys me so i may change it(although i probably wont get round to it.) Smile If i remember rightly the ETZ 250 and 251 have a different frame.Am i correct?

The 251 frame is shorter between the subframe and headstock so the 250 tank wouldn't fit without some bodging and even then at a funny angle I think. I think you'd need to make at least a different bracket to mount it and alter the seat position too so a lot of effort really.
I agree the 251 tank is ugly though, I didn't like the 251 at all myself as its really just the 125 etz with a 250 motor shoehorned into it albeit with a few extra inches across the spine. The 16 inch rear wheel too doesn't help it. The etz250 benefits from an 18 inch rear and larger frame, feels a lot nicer.
You might have more success fitting a Supa 5 tank to it, I've seen some 251s like this.

Thanks Cheesey.

I thought the 251 frame was different but i wasn't sure.
I think i'll live with the standard tank,it's an MZ so it is always going to be ugly anyway Laughing

I am toying with the idea of painting the whole lot Drab Olive like a pseudo army bike, that might look good.
