Any advice on what barrel/piston kits to get??

is it worth staying 50cc or going to 70??

Any particular reason why your doing a rebuild at 5000 ish miles??
Is the compression low, has it been abused or do you just want to do one for the hell of it Thumbs Up

Also depends if you want to stay legal etc because as soon as you put that 70cc head on it isn't a moped anymore for insurance, licence etc. Obviously it depends also how old you are.

My advice would be to keep it as a 50cc. That way you keep the bike standard so it's worth more when you sell it, don't risk commiting offences and you won't have to mess around with upjetting the carb or getting a new exhaust because it doesn't fit the 70 head.

the only reason im doing it is because the bikes not got much torque anymore and i want to make it a tad quicker, ...

i was looking at the malossi 50 kit, bedcause i want the bike to still be reliable, i use it for work etc...

Ive just done this basically cause the bloke who had the bike before fucked everything but thats another story.

I say stay 50 cos with a big bore kit it will damage the crank etc. (apparently) and you will have to fanny around with the carb and airbox.

But others will say you are illegal having it derestriced/aftermarket exhaust so if you are gonna be illegal anyway, why not go that stage further?

I personally would buy standard (TNT for example) piston, rings etc instead of malossi as I would think they will last longer. It should also sell better if it is standard instead of having other stuff on it as it looks like you've been ragging at and nobody wants that!

Just giving you some options but personally I would stay standard as you will probably end up with an unreliable bike that isn't any good for going to work and stuff.

Is it reliable at the moment?

Thumbs Up

Watch some youtube vids of the 70/80cc kit. I'm sure that will help you decide! Rapid haha it runs out of gears!

Thumbs Up
