Make of it what you want. The top visible bit looks like an old telephone handset, but the bottom bit is too small and flat. And who the fcuk are they talking to?

Thats mad. I'm with you on the unlikely bit to be an amplifier. Simply because she is clearly talking to someone (perhaps herself) and the actions are the same as one would expect from a mobile phone call.

The person on the other line says something fascinationg and the reaction of the lady stopping in the screen and turning her head is just like an "oh really" comment. Everyone has had them. Your on the phone walking around and something is said and you just stop.

Of course it could be one of them amplifiers and the horse said something interesting and she is talking to the horse.

a) It's one of those little wind-up music boxes and she's holding it to her ear because she's hard of hearing and is singing along to the tune.

Which are more likely than a mobile-phone in a poor-reception area (1928).

Time travel into the past would create paradoxes, I don't believe it. For all you know it could be a loony who's talking to a piece of wood, which is more likely?

It's not time travel because travelling back in time is impossible (forwards isn't), even with todays science and even without it it's fairly easy to understand why it's impossible to go back in time. However there is a way it could be done, assuming parallel universes exist and you could figure out how to get into one then you might find one running at a slightly slower pace and it'd effectively be 1928.

Stupid theories aside, the woman with giant feet is quite obviously not an imposter, most likely a hearing aid or she is just a nutcase, they did have nutters back in the 20's too.
