Never tried it as I am not much of a spirits drinker but it smells magic!
I bought two half whiskey barrels and they made my van smell wonderful. They were stamped JD .

It is cheap sweet whisky.

Some people love it. I hate it. A mate of mine would start on lager, go to jd+coke (popular mix) and just lose it and start doing crazy stuff.

Either way I think it is rank and is only enjoyed by people trying to get pissed rather than the taste.

I have JD now and again, generally a single with coke. You should give it a bash, maybe even if you just get some for xmas or new years to celebrate with.

Has anyone noticed how some whiskys smell like puke? It was pointed out to me years ago and up until then I hadn't noticed - now I can't help smelling a whisky before I drink it, just to see if it smells pukey Smile

I can't stand American whiskey, if JD taste like some other stuff I had that was American (but can't remember the name)

Prefer something like Famous Grouse, but then I'm not a big spirit drinker either.

It's quite a good one to try if you 'don't like whisky'.

People who go for alcopops or lager.
Whisky is an acquired taste, at first it's just "OMG how do people drink that!"

Ah, kids, then. If they don't like the stuff, they should leave it for those who appreciate it.

This is largely true except for the alcopops and lager bit.

The first time in ages I had it friday night and the bar man mixed a double JD and coke in a single glass. It took me by surprise.

I prefer good bourbon over "real" whiskey, but JD is pretty rank on its own.

A lot of this "American whiskey isn't REAL whiskey" is just nationalistic pretention. Just as bad as people pretending they can identify the subtle aroma of spruce in their red wine, fuck off, you read it in your Sunday times wine guide you faux-snobby cunt. If you like something, you like it - it doesn't mean that the people who prefer the alternative are somehow uncultured or unrefined. Go back to your hugboxes.

Used to drink JD all the time, was pretty much the only tipple I would touch. That was until I discovered a spirit called "Sailor Jerry's" which is a Spiced Rum. It runs circles around JD. Straight over ice, or mixed with coke or lemonade and it tastes awesome.

Most of the stuff from ''across the pond'' isn't to my taste. I'm not saying that it isn't good, just saying that I no like. That said, Jack Daniels is pretty good, as is Canadian Club.

I tend to find Jim Beam a little nicer. JD is good though.

I like a bit of Jack Daniels every now and again, I drink the Single Barrel stuff as in my opinion it has a bit more refined a taste, bit smoother.

Best whiskey I had this weekend, blue label Johnnie Walker, that was far superior to anything Jack Daniel's could ever be.
