What an idiot!!

That's me who's the idiot by the way.

On the way into work this morning I had to join the M1, my first day on a 'longer than I'm used' to commute. And from now on I have to use the M1 twice a day.

Anyway, came up to the roundabout to join the M1, it's a left turn and then down a slip road. I see an old lady driving some little Renault in front of me so I twist the throttle and go for the overtake...

Next thing I know the bend suddenly seems a lot sharper than I remember and I'm heading for the barrier! Bear in mind this is still on the slip road and over the barrier is a long drop down onto the M1 . By this point I'm seriously shitting bricks - I just manage to keep the bike upright whilst wriggling around on the grass verge about an inch away from the barrier and slowly nudge it back onto the road before nipping past the Renault and joining the motorway.
I spent the next 10mins doing 60ish in the slow lane bringing my breathing back under control before carrying on as normal.

Next time I think I'll take it a little slower or learn to get my knee down more quickly!!!
