limewire kaput, finished. whats the next best thing?

'Next best' implies that it's not as good. I think you will find that there is nothing as crap as limewire and that most people abandoned it 5+ years ago. Torrent, newsgroups are where it's at.

I used to be very resistant to them but all the proper p2p things died out real fast and left only torrents so i gave in and it's great!

I kicked Limewire and Bearshare into touch quite some time ago too..

I've since tried a number of different applications, before eventually settling with utorrent

I use a combo of Bearshare and uTorrent. Been using Bearshare for years, and is quite easy to just download the odd song instead of downloading a file, then feeding that into uTorrent.

But whatever.

The next best thing to limewire would be to go directly to the hackers and scammers and request an email with all the latest viruses attached.
Then you'll want to find an album by a shit unsigned band and change the filename to "GreenDay Blink182 Lit Hoobastank Good Charlotte 3 Doors Down New Unreleased song".
Then, when you get a video file, convert it to WMA, open it up in windows movie maker and half way through the video adjust the audio track so it is increasingly out of sync with the video track.

I use 'Vuze', with the torrent website 'Isohunt', if I just want one track I use a youtube -> mp3 converter as it's usually pretty quick.

It was good for downloading the odd single track here and there which is what I often used it for, even recently. If you got viruses it as because you are a fag hag that doesn't know how to use a computer, I used it for years and never got a single virus, and I don't even use antivirus software, save for every 6 months or so I'll download and run 3 different ones separately and they always come up with zilch.

I was completely unaware any one used virus ridden Limewire any more. God do you remember how many there were? Kazaa was another travesty but the best thing at the time.

+1 for real player and then just download off Youtube and Google videos, the sound quality isn't always great though when amplified.

I've used www.mp3boo.com to download many of my albums, along with megaupload and rapidshit.

Must admit, I've had a couple of virus' but 9 times out of 10 they've been ok.

I'm more of a 'direct download' kinda person instead of having to use torrents etc.

Tend to only use torrents for pc games or applications.

Each to their own I guess.

Limewire was good for downloading some music, I got ridiculous speeds sometimes, but there was a lot of virus shit, but that was easy to spot anyway!
Now I use uTorrent with Demonoid, it rocks

+1 on the Limewire thing, never had any viruses but then I know how to work a computer

Also, I've noticed the banner on the homepage of limewire yet mine still connects, i can still search and currently im not being bombarded for tracking software like on public torrents

The court ordered Limewire to stop supporting and distributing its software, so no more updates/paid subscriptions but as the client runs on peer 2 peer communications would that not mean Limewire could survive even without support/distribution by the Limewire creators?




Anyway, currently it still works, give me a current song and I'll happily test it for you
