Did anybody see the programme last night.
Mr May got a lift in a U2 spy plane and flew on the edge of space.

My favorite aviation moment is when the RAF intercepted one of those flying at that altitude by putting a Lightning into a carefully timed "zoom climb". The lightning passed over the top of the U2 travelling a full mach number faster.

Imagine the pilots face when this went screaming past on full reheat:

BBC program Wonders of the Solar System was on last night used a lightning to get to 18km high to show the earth atmosphere
its on Iplayer as well Thumbs Up
