Why such a price difference ?

on previous post i have bought a Triumph Trophy 1200 99 going by parkers i should be looking at £1,675 for a dealer which is about right what i am paying etc. however checking on ebay / auto trader etc. same spec etc. they are £800-£100 dearer am i missing somthing?

The dealer (as all dealers say) said he needs to get rid of all his trade ins ASAP so selling then at the trade in value again will take this with a pinch of salt but can only assume this is right.

The bike is clean runs fine with full luggage the lot just a bit confised.

Dealers are going to ask as much as they think they can get away with, and probably build in 10-15% haggle room. The price asked for doesn't reflect the price it actually goes for.

It could be this bloke actually does just want to shift a trade-in, especially if it's nothing like his normal stock. I doubt very much the previous owner got anywhere near that value for the trade in, though!

well planning a R1 possibly

As per previous posts the only reason i took on the other bike was to step up as it was lower milage and easier to sell and now reached where i want to go a nice tourer.

Also the main reason for the change is that I will now be travling a good 300 miles in 1 go 2 times a month for the next while and the bandit is a bit chilly.
