Shiny goodness. Should improve the handling a fair bit. Cool Only phone pics but hey ho.

Next on the list of things to do is a stainless steel collector box as mine has a massive hole in it. Sad

Yamaha own Ohlins, yeah.

Yamaha dropped the SP around 2002 (Mines an '03) All XJR's from then on came with Ohlins as standard. Cheap poohlins though (non adjustable, gives the bike a hinged feeling). Only more recent XJR's have the proper fully adjustable Ohlins £££££££. The service mine needed would have cost more than these better shocks.

Edit:

Quote:
1995: Yamaha XJR1200 introduced.
1999: Yamaha XJR1200 bored out to create Yamaha XJR1300. SP version also released (deleted 2002).
2004: Lighter wheels, new carbs, new exhaust and uprated brakes added.
2007: Yamaha XJR1300 gets a fairly thorough makeover to gain fuel injection, revised catalytic 4:1 exhaust and a host of detail mods.

I made my bike better than when original by fitting Hagons. The originals were Showa.

Bet you can't wait to see how it handles.
Doing anything with the front end? Oil change on my forks is my next job.

New oil and Hagon fork springs I think Pat. Itching to get out mate. Got replace the knackered collector box first though and can't do that until after christmas. £££. Plus my cans and link pipes are in the kitchen. Laughing

Yeah the CB. Very happy with the customer service. I asked them for a firmer spring, was asked the weights involved. Now i have really good settings with no more speed wobbles when crossing carriageways. Not even bottomed them out 2 up with luggage.
(BTW this was after i'd done the forksprings and oil)

...after Christmas Shocked ...You'll wring its neck by new year.

I read this too. The 'Ohlins' shocks on XJRs were just Yam shocks finished in gold with an Ohlins sticker on them. And they can be bettered by fairly modest aftermarket shocks.
