Hello,

My name is Blurredman and I thought I would introduce myself.

My brother first gave me the bug when he got a TS50 when he was 16. Soon, I wanted one and I purchased a CG125 in June.

I am taking my theory test on the 22nd of this month.

You know it's funny, my mother let my brother have a motorbike because she thought it was a 'phase' and yet, it seems like we will both be motorcyclists for years to come. Indeed, my Grandfather had a 1911 Brough Superior back in the 50's and passed his test on a fluke. And one of my relatives died on the TT races back in the day of B&W.

Surely it's in the blood and I will persist even if I am not the best riders.

I live in S. Wales and I don't stray further East than Cardiff. I normally just stay in the Vale. So if you see me on a Red 'H' 1991 plate CG125, Stop me! I would love to have a chat Laughing

welcome to the forum - I'm in Cardiff too, so may see you about...

And yes I believe it's in the blood too. My grandfather rode BSA's and Nortons some years ago, and my grandmother used to tell me stories of going pillion on the back.

So, although he was suffering from ill health to still be riding by the time I was old enough, I firmly believe that I picked up the interest and enthusiasm from him. (In fact when I think of him as a younger rider, an image similar to David Mann comes to mind)

Just passed my theory. Smile Not ready yet for mod1, though I had a pretty flawless ride today, even with a 12 tin pack of cat food straining my shoulders in a backpack.

Welcome to the forum. If you dont feel ready for taking your mod 1 or 2 just yet then the best advice I can give is spead your wings and explore. Wales is full of little roads that will test your ability and give you much needed experience. Get yourself out of the vale and explore. You'll really appreciate the days out and extra experience.

I have just started University again, so I won't be able to go out as much as I have this Summer. I will try and go out at least every weekend and go out often when I have the odd week off. I am afraid somewhat that If I leave it even a small amount of time then I will loose my ability.

I had a 22 year break between bikes and it came flooding back in the first minute when I climbed back on board. You never forget.

I've just had a go at looking for dates for the next test.

I live in a town near Cardiff so naturally being a Capital City, albeit a new one. I would have thought that there would be a motorbike test centre.

This is my first hurdle, there is none and I would have to go to Newport. It's about 16 miles not using motorways through Cardiff city but Newport is a totally alien city to me. Sad

Another thing, Nothing until the 8th November!!!

Get it booked, You'll have till then to get to know the way to newport and plenty of practice.

At the end of the day they wont move the test ground closer so one way or another you will have to go there.

Got my MOD1 booked for 28th of October after a cancellation. Gonna do some all day practice tomorrow hopefully. At this point, I have given up a full day of Uni to do MOD1, lets hope it was worth it.

Right, I've got everything prepared. My brother is going to drive up front for the journey.

I've got my documents, screwdriver and spare bulbs, a jerry can to empty some petrol in (full tank atm :O ), phone, keys, wallet, waterproof coat, a set of big glothes for the journey because it'll be cold no doubt.

Blahblah, wish me luck Crying or Very sad

Good luck bud. Get it nailed this time. through the speed trap at 50 and stop in that bloody box! Nice squeeze of that front brake. the rest should come naturally as you've done it before.
