HOw about you get a smallish motorcross bike of some kind /now/, then find somewhere you can use it and somehow to get it there.

Will most probably be a lot more fun. Alternativly minimotos aren't just for kids and teach you a fair bit about track riding (bugger all about road riding though.)

Don't get an RS50!
I was lucky enough for my parents to help me out with money for a 50 and ended up buying new. I sold it for less than half the price and have always struggled to find money for proper bikes since then.
Keep the proper money for when you can buy a proper bike.

Get a dt50 or similar, just as fast, don't go bang, can go off road, cheaper, the list goes on and on.

Well, you're not going to be legally riding a litre bike at 16, are you? Rolling Eyes

Look kid, we've already all advised you many times over to go and get a field bike, a scrambler, something with gears that you can legally ride *now*. Or a minimoto if you live near somewhere with a suitable track.

You ask for our advice and then seem to take little notice of it. Doesn't bother me, but it means people will become less and less willing to help you.

Get a field bike, dont get an RS50 ever. When you're 17 get a *cheap* 125 without lots of fairings, do your test then get a proper bike. But you're like 5 now anyway, so it a long way away.

at the end of the day mate its about what you like not what everyone else wants you to get! have a look round for a bike that you want when your nearly sixteen but before then i recomend gettting a crosser and finding a field near you not only is it bloody good fun but it also teaches you how to ride well (like controlling slides) which ive found helps alot when you ride through your first winter and now i have a years NCB.

Look, People have said this to you before.....
Your under the age to legally drive a bike on public roads.
Buy some sort of dirtbike (pref a KX or something along the lines of that) and tear up fields with it! It's what I did when I was younger, and it was great! I got used of how a bike handles. The last thing you want to do is to go driving on public roads and not having a clue what your at (esp. if you dont even have a license)

I made money on my RS50.

Bought it in great condition except a scratch on the Aprilia Sticker for £1300, replaced the sticker and did 22000kms on it and sold it for £1375.

Would never have bought new as i have seen how much they drop to.
