Winter Hack

Looking at getting a winter bike soon, a mate might have a cheap CG up for sale soon so would snap that up. Trying to find engine bars because its probably going to be ridden in snow so when I fall off it wont damage it too much. Anyone know where to get some from?

Never really seen engine bars for a 125. Would probably look a bit over the top. CGs are made to be bashed about. Mine had been dropped about a thousand times when I bought it, (Ex training school bike) and no problems.
The engine isnt really sticking out the frame unlike a larger bike so wouldnt worry about it.

Any bars for a single-downtube 125 should fit or be made to fit with a bit of effort. Jinlun 125 bars (JL 11 or JL 13) are a favourite. I fitted Jinlun RS 125 bars to my HN125-8 with a teeny bit of rubber malleting, and then moved them on to my quite different LF250B by fettling up some extra bracketry.

Bear in mind that you want the bars to bend before the frame does, so they don't have to be particularly securely attached, just enough to take the energy out of a drop.

That said though, that is a nice shiny YBR! The OP is looking at getting a "cheap" CG which will undoubtedly have been knocked about, so wouldn't see much point in them.

Well the cg in question is no more, but still on the look out for a cheap bike. When it comes to it I will have a proper look into some bars. Cheers for that neil I will look into renntec

I will say this from the 1/2 mph drops i've had on a 125 .. is that the crash bungs have saved any damage to the front forks and exhaust ... nevermind the engine ..
