This shit looks immense.

Even more impressive the Milo demo but it does look a bit fake.

Those demos are all very set up and fake, so it probably won't be that great. This on the other hand though is cool and really works:

for a £130 they can hoop off with that one!

Thats a new bike tyre and I bet I would keep that longer.

I will wait until the camera tech goes mainstream and I can control a proper media center with it then I will buy that.

What good games are actually going to come out for this?

I wished it had been more but so far I see a wii thats not a wii

IMO

Yeah it does look staged but if it's true that it works then that's going to make kids even less likely to go out and talk to real people. It's cool like but dangerous ground. Suppose you can actually have a friend if you don't have one already though which may be a bonus.[/quote]

I see it being very glitchy/unresponsive. TBH all I want to do is sit back on the sofa with a controller and play fifa

And there goes the tone of the discussion. Your probably right though, it would be a (good?) learning tool for peados. I think Microsoft should put a tracker in the game that sends info about how people are using Milo or abusing Milo.

If I had this game I would be trying to drown Milo, or bully the fuck out of him, maybe get him to set fire to himself or something. If he told me he needed help with his homework i'd be trying to teach him swear words and try and spawn a devil child. May even turn him into a theif or just a psychopath... maybe stop him from going to sleep for a few months to see what happens.

Is that wrong of me or would other people think the same?

Kinect with Forza 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYGuFsYDbQQ

Apparently it's meant to be pretty good

Anyone been watching the reviews on this? Seems there's a few games out for this Kinect device now. Looks exactly like a wii without the controllers & also very basic.

Looking at the Forza clip above, i'd be surprised if they pull that off as it seems they're struggling to get the handling right on a basic kids driving game, let alone a racing Sim.

I had a go on a kinect in my local Comet store, it was a shitty game where you had to like hit bubbles to make them pop. It did feel pretty responsive and registered quite a lot of detail though.

But it's not for me, it's basically a Wii? I don't see how you'd ever get a gaming experience as intense as COD which is all I need Very Happy !
My room is too small for it too, I think you need to stand quite far away.

It's made for having fun... gay.

Thumbs Up

There are possibilities in terms of gaming but the main thing I see as interesting would be controlling media and so on via voice and hand actions.

Got mine today.

Absolutely awesome!! The facial recognition is perfect, as soon as you walk in front of it it loads your profile, voice recognition is good but needs more commands.

Nipping tesco tomorrow to get more games.

I might be getting one to play with, and by play with i means pull apart to find out how it works then manipulate it for my own evil ends. In case anybody is actually interested in how it works or what all the cameras are:
One will be visual light
One is an infra red camera
One is an Infra red projector projecting structured light https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structured_light
So it will project a grid or something, then based on the distortion of this grid it will be able to calculate the 3d shape of objects. So if your mate's just got one, stand fairly close to it and keep pointing the TV remote at the sensor and pressing buttons. He'll be convinced it's broken Wink

I've been tempted to get one. The technology behind it looks very good.

I like how you can switch players at any time and it just scans you and signs you in.

Apparently there's drivers out there now so you can connect it to your PC, can't do much with it yet though I don't think.

Got mine yesterday, havent done much other than set it up and have a quick run through Kinect Adventures that came with it.

First impressions are that it seems pretty cool, although you do need a decent amount of floorspace, cue completely re-arranging the front room. It's all still a little alien to me though, tend to forget you can use your whole body in games as opposed to just hands like on the Wii.

All in all though I think its a cool piece of tech and I'll be very interested to see what they do with it in the future.
