Now I may have just been seeing things, but I'm sure i read somewhere about a racing season where only pre 2000 bikes were allowed to be used?

Am I mad or is there such a thing? Confused

Havent got proper link atm but I know Derby Phoenix do a pre-injection 600 Class. The problem is is that everyone wants to do it, thus money is a major factor, and it's a very tough class.

Don't know what the weather conditions were like, but the race winning laptimes are laughable!! Rolling Eyes

PRE INJECTION 600 & STEEL FRAME 600

You can't be winning supersport races at Brands with 52s!! Shocked

looking at those i wonder whether they were running wet. some of the times are pretty slow considering it's presumably a 5 lap sprint.

Dunno, but trying to look back at the other results, it seems that event was the first time they were there, it might be possible that many of the DP riders have never done the southern tracks like Brands hence the shameful (for supersport) times?? Neutral

nothing shameful about those times, if the track was damp from the rain in the night b4 that will drop the laptimes generally upto 2 seconds if theres not a complete dry line or if track temp drops consideribly could cause times to drop by a second.

from looking at the results, micheal booth, richard cooper, steve heneghan are all there with only cooper getting into the 49s.

Which these days could near enough qualify onto the bsb superstock grid with a 49s.

I personally know sam middlemas who was doing 51s/50s laps in those results and know he can run in the 48s when he's on it.

As I said, dunno what the conditions were, perhaps it was a drying track? ... oh and noone was doing 49s in PRE-INJECTION 600 which is what we are talking about here! Wink

Trying to get some other judgement of the series, looking at the Snetterton times, seems 1:13.94 is the best the PRE-INJECTION 600 can muster, which again, is pretty weak for SuperSport to be honest ... and that's the best from more than one event ... Confused

Are you sure you're not getting SS mixed up?

SuperSport 600 generally race within the F600 Class, not pre-injection

No, I am not getting mixed up, but I am using supersport as a generic term for 600cc racing as a whole! Wink
