Hey everyone
This will probably come across as rather pathetic, and most people on here will just take the piss but none the less, I figured I would share my quick story...
Up until this evening, I've not been a very confident rider at night (only been on road ~1 month) and most of the roads around here have absoloutely no lighting on them.
I was at work when I received a phone call from my partner. The son has been rushed into hospital after hitting his head, can i get over as soon as possible.
So, jumped straight on the bike and realised, I've only ever ridden to the hospital (area) once and never at night. That didn't matter though as I just had to make sure the lil man was ok. A short nervous ride later I arrived to find out he is absoloutely fine, nothing a couple of parecetemol won't fix
The way back I took an alternative route home to try and broaden my experience and managed to relax and even enjoy it! I already feel much better as a rider, still so so much to learn but I feel like I kind of conqurered a personal problem tonight
As i say - No doubt you will take the piss now but hell, I can take it :p

I definitely find that the more I ride in bad conditions the better I get at it, I still notice myself improving after 4 years ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

Bah, well done sir.
Despite having masses of road craft experience, i was awful nervous when I got my first bike. Scared of every cat by the side of the road as it were. I had a sorta moment about the 400 mile mark on my bike when it just sort of clicked. Suddenly everything felt right. I stopped leaving indicators on to long, i got my balance and co ordination right. By 500 mile I was filtering up and down the A40 and A406 for 40 mile a day every day.
Pre click moment though, yeah, I was shamefully bad |

So what you're saying is, if you could have a narrowly averted disaster for each area of your life that you aren't 100% happy with, you'd be the perfect person? ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

Well done that man. Give the bloke a smartie.
There piss taking done for the day.
On a serious note tho. Well done. It does take time to get used to life on 2 wheels. Sadly there is only 1 known cure for the nerves of riding a bike and that is to ride a bike and continue to ride a bike until your confident on the machine.
Then you change machine and have to start again. Each time you upgrade bikes it takes less time to get used to and easier to find your flow with your machine.
I used to clench my teeth so much my jaw would ache with nerves but once you learn to relax and treat it as an enjoyable experience rather than a scary one you'll find yourself grinning from ear to ear wondering what the fuss was about. ____________________ illuminateTHEmind wrote: I am just more evolved than most of you guys... this allows me to pick of things quickly which would have normally taken the common man years to master
