Thursday evening the ex phoned and asked if I could give our daughter a hand emptying her loft as she was having new insulation this week. They had sent the oldest granddaughter up to have a look and she reported that there were just a few items that needed to come down.
Got there yesterday lunch time ( they would have preferred today but I had plans). As soon As I climbed in the loft I could see that there was more than just a few items I could not move for junk. The previous owner was a builder and a hoarder. There was teddy bears, wood, plasterboard, suspended ceiling tiles, tea-chests, lawn-mowers, electric heaters, glass, boxes, books, carpets, plastic sheets, mattresses, flat pack furniture and lots of random stuff like flip-flops and broken tennis rackets. It has taken me all weekend and four trips in my van to the city recycling to empty it.
My plans for today did not happen.
Who else has had fun this weekend?

My Missus has been ill all week-end Smile Thumbs Up , so I`ve had less of an ear bashing Smile .
Some of her family came up to stay, but that was`nt bad as I actually like them.

The down side was that as she was ill, Ive had to do all the cooking and cleaning Sad as well as going to work!
Mind you, I did a fair mean roast dinner today Smile Thumbs Up and I`m still full up from it!

The amount of dust that accumulates in roof spaces is hideous, my hair and boiler suit were filthy when I finished, God knows how much I breathed Sad .
We did take a short break to get some food in at ASDA and the daughter brought Rihanna's for me so that is nice Smile

I blame number 1 grenddaughter, she has 11 GCSEs at A or A* but no comprehension of the real world. She thought all the wood and other building materials were part of the house. Mr. Green

Had a friend over last night to watch TV and play Wii, but other than that I've been in mild discomfort and pain from the full body burns from Friday's phototherapy session (No.28 of 40). Laughing Can't even get drunk as that makes it feel even worse in the morning.
Sounds like I'm moaning over nothing but for several weeks in a row of intentional mild burning you do get pretty frustrated.

I spent a fair bit of it in my mum's loft sorting through a load of stuff I had there which I've been saying I'd do for a while.
A lot of it reading computer magazines from the late 80 and early 90s, motorbike magazines from the late 90s (new CBR600FX model will be amazing says MCN) and finally 'Commando' comics that were probably from the 70s.

If you don't mind me asking what is the phototherapy for? It does not sound fun.

Saturday:
Changed oil and filters in spare car (been driving it a lot recently for some reason ... so thought I better service it).
Prepped KTM for Sundays off road ride.
Did a 20 mile mountain bike ride ... nice and hilly and lung bursting.
Spent the evening visiting an old girlfriend .. which irked Mrs.Silky nicely Smile

Sunday:
OffRoad ride in morning.
Spent the afternoon trying to make 2 x Rabbit hutches and a Guinea Pig hutch. (i need some designs)

At assorted times I also made a lego technics thing with the boy / went shopping with Mrs.Silky / watched the daughter in a play / cooked Ikea meatballs / had a family movie time watching Bugs Life and eating nibbles in the dark.

I spent about 20 mins clearing snow from the path to the car, other than that I had a blissfully quiet weekend. Busy weeks either side of it, so no guilt involved.

I did manage other stuff as well as the loft clearance. I went to an education show at the NEC yesterday morning and forgot where the van was parked Embarassed
I went for a pint last night.
I screwed my new bird table (that I made at school when all the kids were off celebrating Eid) to the decking in my garden at 6.30 this evening in the rain with a torch in my teeth.

Started to teach my 3 year old how to tell the time today. He seems to recognise the numbers on an analogue clock face and knows that when the big hand points up at 12, it's o'clock. Now he won't shut up and keeps telling everyone it's whatever o'clock. Next step is half past and quarters. Progress! Mr. Green

Also picked up a weeks worth of dog turds from the garden since it's been a rather wet week and I've been putting it off. I never realised one dog could produce so bloody much. I don't think I'll ever look at chocolate mousse in the same way again.

Not at all. Laughing Just severe chronic eczema. Went away for ages when I went on a sunfilled holiday a few years ago but came back last winter. Though phototherapy is no fun the idea is that it puts skin conditions into remission for at least a year or two, and I'd rather suffer intensely for 10 weeks and have 2 years of comfort.

I made one speaker sound like a depth charge whilst the other sounded like crystals exploding. All by the power of flesh on steel.

....well, you had to be there.

Changed the wheels and tyres on my MR2, cooked a cracking beef bourguignon, piddled around playing 'Are Friends Electric' with the GTG 44 S VST plugin.

See that Gary Numan, that's me that is.

(Only slightly fatter, i'll bet the Tubeway Army never cooked him beef bourguignon)

I also buggered-up the North Section Tag Challenge.

Apparently Rolling Eyes , the new tag has to be made on the same bike and the same day.

Details...details.

Plus point was 6th gear roll-ons...very addictive Mr. Green

I really should pull my finger out and add the vocals to the one I did Smile

As far as this weekend went, Saturday morning I did the hoovering and laundry then went down south to my brother's for a chili and a "putting the world to rights" session over a few beers. Today started off with a full English, ended with a full Sunday roast, and had a lot of Burnout Revenge in between.

Yes yer Honor. I did travel many a mile and got the old tag.
3hrs later i was back home to let my 3 dogs out (1 of which is registered P.A.T so the ickle poorly children can stroke a dog before they die) for a piss.

As i am a part-time single parent (full time work.... in the mines...in the dark) i was unable to fill my Mobylette so i could ride to the new tag in the time allotted.
During my one days annual leave i took a photo of my other moped at the most important Prehistoric Monument in Derbyshire..Ahhh....Happy day. That would make a perfect tag i dreamed.

But NO. I was challenged..I rebuked...I fell by the wayside (Jnc 32 off the M6)

The new tag was set by kitty kat. It was a photo of a toilet block (disabled to the right)

The North Section are hardened and ruthless....I am VICTIM.

By the secret power of Ctrl+c:

Quote:
The idea is you ride your bike somewhere a bit different and interesting, take a photo of the landmark/building/what ever, and then someone has to 'tag it.' They then get to choose the next tag for everyone else to get; they have to also photo the new tag with their bike in the photo. The person who gets the tag is the person that posts an image on here before anyone else. So two people might go for the tag at the same time, however it is first to post that wins. Idea is to get as many tags as possible in the year. If no-one can get the tag clues may be given.
