2002 Aprilia RSV not starting!

Well, it's taken less than a week before my first Italian bike has thrown a wobbler

Washed it yesterday and has refused to start since then. The battery is fine, have still got it on an optimate to keep it 100%. The bike will turn over no problem, just won't catch. I left it overnight, incased I'd flooded it somehow, but no luck again this morning. I just had the plugs out (there is 2 per cylinder). I took the lower one out of the rear cylinder, and turned it over - I couldn't see any spark, but I saw a flash of blue from the engine, so maybe the other plug is ok. I took them both out, and neither are sparking - no blue flashes though.

I'm not an expert mechanic, so don't really know what else I can do/check. I hear the solenoids are weak on these, could this be the cause?

I've sprayed WD-40 round all the connectors that could of got wet, I might go round with a hairdryer in a bit!

Cancel that, it's sparking fine, I just stupidly forgot to ground the plug to the engine.

So, to update, the engine is turning over fine, the spark plugs are spark, the battey is ok. The dash needle is stopping at 6,000rpm though, and I can hear a click from what I think is the starter relay.
