how you can 'fall off a bike at 90mph'

oh and how doing 120 mph ona straight dry road your 75% likely to crash and die.

help em find soem stats that show how little bike accidents involve a bike just speeding and involve other vehicles thanks

Unfortunately for you a lot of bike accidents involve loosing control on a corner and coming off the road.

Also falling off when its wet and icy like it is now Razz

Not all of them are to do with car drivers.

Tried looking up similar statistics before to shut some idiots at work up, couldn't find anything useful, must have spent a week or so trying to find stuff in my spare time before giving up.

Although surely going by their percentages you should be dead by now, or at least I know I would be Laughing

its crazzy

the bike krept to 120 yesterday on a NSL no other cars bone dry road
i wasnt looking at the speedo i was looking at the road with her on the back. she pinche dmy ribs and i looked down now im getting bullshit of arseholes who drive cars and have no road manars on motorways lettign cars out etc, telling me im a dangerous and idiotic driver.

surley driving a corsa thats max speed is 105 or w/e at 90mph on a motorway with trafic is more dangerous than a hornet thats capable of 140odd on a dead road ... i mean my bike was made for speed my tyres are rated miles higher than the bike can do . and well its just not a shed thats being screwed the arse off

Call me a spoilsport but I'd maybe suggest that if you're trying to stop your girl being scared of the bike, maybe 120 with her as pillion ain't the way to do it?

Straight road or no, that's fast. And, pulling stats outta my arse, I'dve thought 120mph accidents usually ended in fatalities to be honest.

Was she cool with the bike before now? Or you trying to get her into it?

Motorcycle KSI Statistics - wow, that took nearly 30 seconds of googling!

The crib notes: KSIs for motorcycles are now 30 times higher than cars. Your highest risk for a single vehicle accident is riding a bike >500cc on a NSL non-built up road, not at a junction, going straight ahead, due to loss of control, resulting in skidding or overturning.

If you want a different answer, you'll have to ask a different question.

My question: is your wife a looker? You won't mind me giving her a call after they bury the bits of you they could find, will you?

i have never lost controll of a bike in a straight line ever and i doubt i will as i aint stupid enought to
A ) ride fast on unknow roads
B) ride with tyres that are bollockx and likely to blow out
C) ride on white lines near traffic at speed

yes and it seems like it may have killed the relationship aswell.

because one is a med student it means that he knows everything about motorcycles.

and at 120mph your not in controll of the vehicle appareantly not in the slightest its driving itself so it seems.

i mean qotes like :

Quote:
I was in total control of the bike, except for the part where I was doing twice the speed limit. yes alright officer ill come quietly

or
Quote:
I'm a med student, pal. I've seen what happens when people crash at 60, and it's not even slightly pretty. I've never seen what happens to a person who crashes at 120, because they tend to skip the hospital part and land right in the morgue. Not drunk people, of course. Well, not all of them. Some of them are just morons."

fucking retards talk about stuff they know fuck all about

TBH it sounds like you scared the fuck out of her. She's probably told her mates about it and it wasn't "I was doing a 120 on the back, it was awesome", rather "I was on the back, and the stupid sod was doing 120. I've not going on the back of that thing ever again."

That's why you're getting stick. It's not rocket science. You've terrified the lass, and they now think you're a dick because of it. All the stats in the world aren't going to change it.

That's a relief, because everybody who does lose it wakes up thinking "Well, I expect today's the day I'll bin it in a straight line at high speed, but damn it, I'm going to ride anyway."

Look, I don't wish you any ill will, but it's clear that you just like speed, you think you've got reality altering superpowers, and nothing anyone can say will change your mind because accidents only happen to other people, and they're probably all ponces who are just jealous of you anyway.

I think you'll just have to get used to the other 99.5% of people on the planet being wrong. If it helps, it's very unlikely that you'll ever hear anyone say "Told you so".

im no superpowers. not atall i ride within my limits . and the bikes limits. i ride to the road / weather conditions at all times. if i was that shit a rider in that last 5 years i would have been dead considerign ive done almost 70k miles in all weather

^This.

You may well ride within your limits, but when you have a pillion, you need to alter your riding.

Yeah, although the best exchanges are like this;

"How did you get here pal?"

"Came on the bike"

"Motorbike?!"

"Yep"

"Oh wow, my brother’s mate got decapitated in a bike crash actually"

"....Thanks for that"

Yeah, yeah, yeah - you're the greatest rider ever. It's just a pity all the other useless cunts on the road haven't been told about it so they can avoid crashing into you.

did i ever say that no. theres always a chance that im going to crash the same chance that gettign hit by a bus crossing the road.

i dont ride fast in the wet. i dont ride fast on roads i dont know. i dont ride fast in the dark because there are so many cars with 1 headlamp that you can hit overtaking thinking its a bike.

im not the greatest rider but i have alot more road sense than weekend warriors and most car users who sit in a car and switch off because there in a big tin box

As opposed to switching off because of complacency/overconfidence?

Remember that most accident happen in the home Wink

I do think that you frightened your pillion and they then mentioned it to their friends. If you had been paying more attention you would have noticed that you were doing 120, so in reality you only have yourselkf to blame for the situation you find yourself in.

My two pence.
