Hi

I recently bought a Honda CBF 500 ('04). The person I bought it from informed me the previous owner to them had lowered the seat hight. I'm guessing this was because they were short. The problem is, I'm tall. I've had lower back pain while riding and I think it's connected.

Anyone know how to raise the seat hight, or how the person might have lowered it?

Cheers.

i may be talking junk here but on most bikes ive had the rear shock (the part in the back hooking to the swing arm linkage and the frame, looks like a tractor hydraulic with a spring) it has ajustments on it, on dirtbikes its a case of screwing down 2 big nut looking jobs further down the spring to make it stiffer or higher. on a street bike or quad you have notchs and you get a punch or screwdriver and hammer and nock it around until it has the longest notch on the pin on the shock.

seeing as its a streebike this may be useless and the guy before may have baught a lowering kit, in which case you may need new stock linkage or a new shock, but you should bring some decent money from the height shortening linkage on ebay.
