Well done for helping them in that way. Nice that BCF can foster the kind for trust that lets that happen.

I'm curious about the practicalities. Are the ownership documents made out in your name or the name of the scottish guys ? Are you gonna sell the bikes on for them at the end ? I know that you dont need insurance in NZ as its paid for in petrol tax or something, so sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

the bikes are in my name, far easier that way, i'll sell them for them when they leave, and send the money back to them,
insurance is optional, its not in the fuel, we have accident compensation in the fuel tax, which only covers you and injuries you sustain, but not the bike or car or anything like that,
but with only 4 million people in the whole country, most of the time its not needed,

insurance is up to them, if they are willing to wreck the bikes and not get any money back, then sweet, after all they would only losing what they would have paid in rental costs.

im sure they would do the same for me were i coming back to the uk, in fact last time i was back, a bike was organised for me to use the whole time, so really im just paying karma back

theres plenty of us left, it just takes a good deed every now and again, and then the person who got helped out is more likely to help someone else out, and it spirals from there,
obviously id met pam and eddy quite a few times when i was in the uk, you'd have to have quite a bit of trust to send the amount of dosh they did, i could have easily done a runner, and never turned up on the forums again,
but what message would that send to future visitors to nz??
not a good 1
