avi help

Probably one for bendy but i'll put it to anyone.

I have just started to Download Pirates of the caribbean (sp) to see what the fuss is about (pause for "Thats crap" comments... ...

The first few frames, well, for the first minuet or so, there is a load of garbled green and pink psychedelic squares all over the screen (the sound seems fine). What would cause this and can you get rid of it or is it part of the *.avi file I am currently downloading and I would be better off getting another copy.

Sounds to me like it's just corrupt.

Download a few other alternatives and see if they do the same, cancel the ones that do, keep downloading the ones that don't. Also try using other programs to open the video with, but like I said... sounds corrupt.
