Check page 2

Last night I visited my college at night because there was a disco but I ended up not going in, just had a fag and walked around a bit.

Anyway, come back to my bike, there are a bunch of ped bois doing dougnuts and wheeling their peds and bikes up the car park. I go to my bike and realise it has been dropped. Various bits of damage e.g. tank dented, clutch lever and cable both need replacing, scratches to bodywork.

I am going to get the cctv today. There are signs up saying vehicles left at owners risk. I assume this means the college won't take any responsibility, fair enough but if they don't cooperate, can I get the police involved to catch whoever it was and make them pay for the damages?

Not sure on the entire rules about this as it was on college land but they don't want anything to do with it obviously.

Get the police involved. Either way its criminal damage if you can get the cctv and it shows the bike was knocked over.

the chances are the college wont do anything. They might not even allow you to see their cctv since there is a sign which tells people that they park there at their own risk.

However the police can be involved as criminal damage is something that can be investigated even on private land. The police can request to see the college cctv system and take action.

But its whether they can be arsed. I had a mirror smashed on my bike once. I have an idea of who it was that done it (chavvy bastard upstairs) and there are camera's pointed at my bike at all times in the place I live. I called the police and reported it and was told that its unlikely that any action will be taken as they cant spare the resources. When I replied that if I found could prove who it was I could go around and break their legs to which the police man informed me that I would be arrested for assault. The argument continued from there as to why it is ok for people to wilfully damage property, under cctv camera, and nothing get done but I cant take the law into my own hands.

End of the day see what the police say. but I dont hold out too much hope.

Well I went in and asked them but their "systems are down"

It does record but they can't access the footage from the computer at the moment so they are going to call me if they find anything. Apparently the camera moves so it may not have captured it.
As I was pulling out of college today trying not to stall what with no clutch some kids looked and pointed and I think it was a couple of them tbh. I recognise the moped from last night.

I reckon if I went to a dealer to get everything fixed then it would probably cost well over £150.
I have had to buy clutch lever and cable already so if I find out who did this then they are getting the bill for a new fuel tank aswell.

TBH I reckon college will find the names of the people from the plates as they are supposed to be registered to be allowed in. Bobs your uncle, fannys your aunt and we have the culprit. Then I can say to them, pay up or I get police involved and you still have to pay up.

Yes Chalky, we can go fuck some shit up if college or police do nowt.

Do it.

If you can be sure that you know who it was (or at least recognise the ped that they ride) then cut their brake lines. (I'm presuming that they attend your college as well)

At the end of the day, even if you have the wrong kid, you've rid the streets of another pedboi arsehole.

Go to the colleague and tell them that you require copies of the CCTC from the carpark - under the data protection act 1998.

If you have the timeframe when the damage took place tell them that you were in the car park at that time. As you can only ask for the footage that has been recorded of you.

They have 40 days to comply with your request otherwise (there may be a minimum charge) otherwise you will take it further and they may be fined (upto £5000)

Yup couldn't leave it down the alleyway cos I was away all weekend and they had to get the bins out. Had its cover on it and I haven't taken it off yet, I'll get to see what damage has been done tonight... expecting a dented tank at least.

They won't give you CCTV as it will contain other peoples registration plates and will have other people on it and due to data protection you won't be able ot have it (stupid yeah?)

but if it is captured the police will be able to request it, whether they can identify who did the damage is another story though i guess

Well if there is the incident recorded, the college will tell me who did it from the registration plates.

If they don't because of data protection act then I will get the police involved.

Fail about your bike Adam, was it knocked over where I usually see it? It was upright saturday night I am sure. I went to al madinas you see Laughing

Happened to me outside the flat we lived in. Apparantly I wasn't allowed to see the footage that points towards the carpark because the cctv looks towards the flat windows above the parking spaces................my flat windows. Rolling Eyes
