Chain Kit - O-Ring or X-Rin / Gold or Standard

Hi everyone. I new my chain was on its last month or so of life but on Sunday I went for a ride (about 100miles) and I think killed it

I was surprised how loose the chain got after sundays ride, its pretty much on the limit on the swingarm gauge thing and its fairly loose. Sprockets actually look OK but I will just change the whole thing.

Now my question is what should I go for? Its the first time I have to change the chain so would really appreciate some advise on whats best, the differences and if its worth to go for the more expensive stuff.

The bike is a Honda Hornet 600cc '04 and I ride it a lot, this includes commuting many times as well (rain etc)

I bought the equivalent kit for my CBR, great bit of gear for little money.

Get a gold one if you want some bling but they offer no real benefit over a standard chain.

Also if you wish to install it yourself you will need a chain tool, I have this one:

It is good for the pennies , I think you will struggle to find either item cheaper elsewhere. P.S. Don't buy an IRIS chain.

Just go for an x or o ring chain on the best deal you can find. I prefer JT steel sprockets for lasting sprockets.

X ring chains should last longer but with regular cleaning and oiling both last just as long for me.
