Why is the fat bit at the top? Surely it would make more sense to make them fatter at the bottom so when it's full it isn't top heavy.

The shape makes you drink quicker and buy more beer, you take a swig and it is down to halfway but in reality there is only a a quarter left so your next taste drains the glass and buy another.

It'd be a lot harder to wash if the narrow bit was at the top, surely it would be more logical just to make them straight.

If that's a beer glass then then have machines to clean them anyway.

A glass that was fat and the bottom and skinny up top would be horrible to hold. Especially when wet.

Isn't it all down to pouring the beer aswell? As in, getting a perfect pint so to speak, getting the right sized head, not to fizzed up blah blah.

Ski yogurt pots used to be big at the bottom ad small at the top. It was a bugger to get all the yogurt out.

If it was 'fat' at the bottom then it would be awkward to drink as well. Supposedly a yard of ale is a bitch to drink because of the fat bottom:

The problem with drinking a yard of ale isn't really directly because it has a fat bottom. It's when you drink so much of it and al of a sudden you get a massive slosh of beer come flying towards your face as air suddenly makes it's way into the bulb at the bottom.

I managed 1 on my 18th (on the race trip we go on every year), was gonna try another but was advised not to by the landlord Very Happy
