Just bought this fella, 07 CBR600RR with Akrapovic exhaust. Sub 5k miles. Sounds the bollocks.

How much if you don't mind me asking? I've got a bit of a soft spot for those 2007 CBRs after I test rode one when they first came out. Completely mental bikes.

Something wrong with the fairing? Looks like the front has dropped.

Dealer price at £5100. Probably £500 over the money, but it's very tidy. I prefer buying from dealers for no logical reason, just like the experience.

I've been jonesing after a new bike for a while, test ridden all sorts of things, and I have to say this exceed expectations somewhat.

Now just tempted to put some new rubber on it......any ideas? Tempted to put the Road Pilot 3's that I've had on the SV.....but am open to suggestion.

What sizes you running on rear?

Only can recommend 2 types really, Dunlop Sportmax Qualifer RR or Bridgestone BT014's... I've never felt so planted.

Set of 014's new on ebay from blackandround at £163 the pair Thumbs Up

I nearly went for the 10 plate with the fully filled in fairing, but they were a grand dearer without the exhaust upgrade. I actually like seeing a bit of the engine....

No idea on tyre sizes as yet, can't pick the bike up until two weeks as I'm working away. Arse! BT014's, heard good things....are they good in the wet as well?

I like the 'nose buried' look. Makes the rake look very steep.

Believe that the bike comes with either of those as standard depending on where you buy it from (dealer preference?), I've never completely lost control, but in the wet, I've had lockups with the dunnies when braking in a 30 (and doing the limit), can't tackle roundabouts on them in the wet, dry stopping performance compared to others seems poor (locked again), certainly didn't have the stopping distance of the bike ahead of me which was a bum twitch moment.

Now I know the natural preference is to assume rider error, I think I could have been disadvantaged by having a lighter bike, so it might not be the tyres inability to grip, but this combined with the other problems makes me want to go and try something else and see how they compare.

Put it this way... my front one is bald, and i've commuted on it for over 2500 miles and its never felt like its slipped at all.
Rear is square... it got me so confident I didn't want to change them.

One issue is the wear rate, although they are fantasticly superb in dry and wet, they wear faster than anything I have ever seen. Just dont do burnouts Wink There is a reason mine was square.... Laughing

Very very nice, mine came with BT-015s' originally and i've generally always had BT-016s' on it since.

They've always been good wet or dry, obviously you cant hammer it as much in the wet and have to smooth out a bit but they work nicely.

I've always been tempted to try something else so if you put something different on it'd be interesting to hear what you think.

I've always found hanging off for cornering to make this bike work much much better. I found hanging off before corner, negative counter steer to keep straight, then tip in with your hang off equalling the corner force makes this bike go round corners really really nicely.

Enjoy it, looks like you've got a good'un Thumbs Up

I think it's got the BT015 on it, they've still got plenty left on them. I'll see how I go.

Took it for a test ride and was totally amazed by it. I like the SV, but I understand where comments like, getting bored quickly come from.

It handled, in my opinion of course, better than the 848, was absolutely fine in traffic and contrary to what many say, is perfectly happy below 9000 revs just bimbling around. But feck me, open it up and it's just fantastic. Great fun, looking forward to getting to know it.

I didn't like the 014s. Found my old 023s offered better feel and greater confidence. Went with the 016pros this time. I'll do a review when I've scrubbed them in.

Nice, I like this CBR 6 best, looks the bollocks and is very capable.
Had a go on a couple and I'd have one.
I can't recommend Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa's enough. Fantastic grip in the dry, as good as anything else I've had in the wet and just got 4k out of the back on a Gsxr750 that doesn't get ridden slowly, front should just about last another back.

This. The "five" compound 015 was standard fitment on these, 016 being the consumer verison of the same tyre.

A couple of mates had them, lovley bikes. Both of them ended up crashing their's though. Laughing

Might be worth investing in a slipper clutch if you're particularly ham fisted on high speed down shifts.
