Obviously the majority of members here ride sports / tourers / equivalent.
How many people here have ventured onto an off road crosser / equivalent for shits and giggles.
I have never ridden an off road bike so I do not know what its like, can imagine it being great fun though off road.
And for those who ride crossers regularly, ever ridden race style bikes? You like the difference?

I lived on a farm for 6 years until last year. We had loads of fields to ride on and it was great.
I taught myself on a Kawasaki KE100 and began with trundling along in first gear and then progressed making good use of all the gears. That bike buggered up and I got a 1998 Kawasaki KX80 and that was a very rapid bike.
We had an old Yamaha DT250 sitting in the barn and we got that running for a while and that was a laugh. Amazingly I beat a KX250 on it in a straight line.
Its great fun on the fields because you have no limits, no obstacles etc (unless the field is pretty small and theres farm machinery to avoid).
The biggest sports bike I've ridden on the road is an NSR125 but didn't have it flat out.
I've been on the back of a fair few bikes. The fastest I've been on the back of was a Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird.
Fairly nippy. ____________________ "Put your hands up motherstickers, this is a f*ck up!" |

Personally I've been riding since I was 4, I pestered until my parents got me a little Italjet 50 back in 1987 (bright green ofcourse like a mini Kawasaki lol) as I wanted one before I could even ride a push bike as my Dad had always raced road bikes so I wanted one. They said I could have a motorbike if I learnt to ride my bike with no stabiliser's, so straight away I was out practising and within a few hours I'd cracked it so that christmas I got one
My Gran had a farm with a good few acres to ride on so that was never an issue and I had great fun on it. The farm was sold when I was about 7 so I was unable to ride it and lost a bit of interest, but at 12 I got a Kawasaki KX80 I used to race up near Lowton (same MotoX school Foggy raced at), it was a 1992 bike (it was 1994 when I got it) used by Kawasaki Junior GB team so it was very quick, abit too quick for me, but it was great fun but not cheap to run. I was always a road rider though so at 16 got myself an Rs50 and then progressed to a Mito Evo2 18month's later and am now on an Rs250 24 months after getting the Mito. I also have an RGV (well, kind of) for the track and a TKM 100 Senior kart for some serious fun when I have the money atleast... ____________________ My Bike pics - https://www.bikepics.com/members/cagivamito2001

When i had my derbi i used to go on the green lanes while out and about for a laugh.
From that i learnt that sendas dont like water going above the spark plug and it doesnt hurt half as much when you fall off in the mud.
Later i combined green lanes with the roads and got my kicks from jumping canal bridges at 50mph - Learnt what happens when you back the throttle off during take off..
Off roaders are great fun if you have that sort of thing aound you. ____________________ "because one stroke isnt enough and four strokes waste two" |
