I tend to regularly 'see what's out there' on eBay and as such have read some almost illegible/uselss descriptions and seen some poor pics ...

This is the latest that made me LOL https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-HAOTIAN-BLACK-/180602916794 ... I mean come on ... at least brush off the snow!! Laughing

With such folly, it often makes me wonder ... if they lack even the most basic of common sense, how do these people get on in life generally!?!!?

Think the buyer was being very harsh, given the price they paid, and the fact they arrived.....

Sometimes it's the Chinese bike that's the problem, and sometimes it's the Chinese bike owner, eh? I think that ad perfectly illustrates why there are so many shagged out Chinese-branded bikes out there that have never seen the business end of spanner. Poor, poor bikes. Crying or Very sad

the most annoying bits is sellers with advert titles like "Honda Red", "Suzuki Blue". That really buzzes me as you have to click on it only to find its a pile of crap!

Thats ebays shitty auto titling! Have been caught out by it too, if you write up an auction including creating your own title, then proceed to the pictures stage, then realise you forgot to put something in the description and go back to it, it puts the title back to the ebay auto title.

No idea why it does it, but it really pissed me off when it happened to me!

I often look through the bike adverts on Flea Bay, and it appalls me the standard of some of the photos together with the third world English used. A bike covered in piles of junk in a shed, in a photo taken with an out of focus, cheap, camera phone together with a description in text speak, can only attract the odd chancer who will pay a fiver for any old heap of junk.
There is plenty of good advise from Ebay on how to improve the quality of your advertisement, but so many people choose to ignore it, do their own thing and in the process their sale price by a considerable margin.
I'm not suggesting perfect English or studio photo art but a little common sense would suffice.

car adverts aren't much better, was looking for a decent corsa the other week and came across one advert with all the pics done in the dark to show off the neons underneath, and another with the photo taken from the bedroom window, of a car on the main road at the end of the garden, and then a public footpath and a grass verge!

Although an odd thing to auction (might be useful if you have had a RHS crash mind??), the actual listing is logical and well presented with lots of relevant/useful info inc good quality pic ...

So 10:10 for spotting an unusual add, 0:10 for it being carp/illiterate!! Very Happy
