https://www.biker-discount.co.uk/

Not a shop I've heard of so just wondering if people has had any problems or not with them before I buy from them. Smile

No address on the website Shocked = instant warning.

If you google the phone number they trade on ebay as "Squaredeals UK" and also seem to have various other sites under diffrent names...

Being cynical, due to my job. A company to avoid, as they are hiding details and trading under too many guises.

I wouldn't buy from someone who's taken about 10 mins to set up a basic OScommerce store or the like.

I've bought from them before via ebay, only once as far as I can remember and no problems.

Although I do like this bit -

"The price you see is the price you pay!"

Shopping cart prices will be displayed Exclusive of VAT for the benefit of trade & Non Eu customers. The VAT will be recalculated were appropriate at the payment stage.

So the price you see is the price you pay + vat in reality

Mate of mine bought a blue flame can off ebay from them, it was described as "shop soiled with tiny scratches". In reality it was VERY dented and was a hollow shop dummy!

It took him an age to get a refund.

Evidence:
Arrow Poor website.
Arrow 'Registered business' listed as if that's important.
Arrow Vat number listed as a badge of respect. (These two do mean something, but making a show of it also says something negative.)
Arrow email address does not belong to domain.
Arrow Another dodgy website - https://www.triumph-online.co.uk/ .
Arrow Address is a residential address.
Arrow Can only phone until 4pm.

Not actually used them, but I would err on the side of them being 'genuine' (not a scam), but a drop shipper. Were it me, I would use a credit card for the better protection it offers.

[edit - I wrote this last night, but my 'net connection died. There is an address on the site.
Also, I was confused by the VAT thing, it works thus; the price you see on the product page is the price you pay if you're in the UK. However, when it's in the shopping cart, it's shown without VAT.]

EDIT:Just noticed the the paypal, visa etc logos aren't clickable either. I'm sure they should be.

I'm guessing you've decided this isn't the case as you've since edited your post Razz. However, no reason they should be Smile.

Laughing Some are, some aren't but it's the "no reason they should be" I was unsure about so I thought I'd better remove it. Laughing

for the record oilyhands0 on ebay that i've got filters from in the past are part of squaredeals.

had no problems ever.

btw, checked the VAT number and registered company number and its registered as follows:

registered from: Date of Incorporation: 20/10/2010

VAT number GB 970780691
Member State GB
Name ELIZABETH BATEMAN !! SQUARED DEALS MOTORCYCLEACCESSORIES
Address 21 MIDDLEWOOD
ASHURST
SKELMERSDALE
LANCASHIRE

WN8 6SR
Consultation Number
Date when request received 03/01/2011 (dd/mm/yyyy)

sounds like they've only just setup the company officially, probably just grown to the point they need to be VAT registered.

if it is the same squaredeals i've dealt with before then its perfectly legit although the website would put me off dealing with them. thy need to get that sorted

I've just tried that with an item,

848/1098/1198 07-10 Sprocket Cover

Remove
Qty

Cost
£34.99
(ex Tax: £29.78)
Delivery Method

VAT (Tax)
VAT is applicable to the UK and EEC member states. You may select your country from the list below…
Country

Sub Total: £29.78
Delivery: £0.00
Vat @ 17.5%: £5.21
Total: £34.99

So the £34.99 is the price you see, and pay - they just break down the VAT at check out stage?

I know a lot of people on the Triumph forum who have had no problems with triumph-online.co.uk
