 |
|
Hi,
My project bike has a 2+3/4 16inch rear tyre (yes, its a scooter!!) on it currently, but i was wanting to put a chunky/oversized tyre on it.
Is there a guide to show what size tyres will go on certain rims?
If i cant get a larger tyre on the rear, i might go for a knobbly

If it's the right diameter and you can get it to seat then it fits
I once fitted a 180-section tyre to a fazer. Had to use a lot of lube and about 80psi to seat it but once it was on it rolled true. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Ok, the current one is a 2+3/4 on a 16inch rim.
On a different bike ive got a 3.50 16. Diameter wise its the same, so give it a try you say?
It needs to be tubed, as the wheel is spoked. What tube would i use, the smaller or larger one?

Ok cheers
I have bought a NOS tyre off ebay to try it with, so im not swapping tyres around between bikes.
On closer inspection, theres not alot of clearance between the current tyre and transmission casing, so it may not fit! Maybe i should have checked that first!!

Look at tyre manufacture site. They usually state rim sizes, required. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |
