I know there's a lot of photographers on here, so I thought I'd post it off. If enough people hate it, I'll stop posting, but it's completely up to you guys.

Anyway, a 365 for those that don't know is where you try and take a photograph every single day for the year. And here's mine. Traditionally they start on the first of January, but mine doesn't because I didn't think about it until last night. So I'm running slightly out of synch.

Anyway here's number one. Feel free to comment/take the piss as you see fit. And if anyone else fancies joining me, give it a go. Smile

Anyway:

Like the ideas behind these, might well start one today, better late then never, and be a an excuse to use the camera daily!

nice shot by the way

cheers

That's the sort of picture I want to take (not of a flower, but with the background really out of focus) but my camera just doesn't do it very well.

Do you have AV or Aperture priority mode on your camera Chives?(If not the best thing would be something like sports mode) O, and I'm not saying you can't do it. Laughing The more the merrier.

Yeah. My number 2 picture was taken with the aperture turned all the way down (small number, more light, out of focus).

I never thought about bringing one of these over here... trust you to suggest it! Razz

It'd be cool to get a "BCF" 365 rather than as individuals (as that's going to be one mother of a thread to go through in December...) - heck I might even contribute! Very Happy

Lovely, the greater you zoom in with a wide aperture, then smaller the depth of field will become.

Personally when I do flower stuff, to get the same effect as DF, I'll use my 55-250mm lens at 250mm with an aperture of f/6.3...

I have a tripod. I took it out with me today. It's funny because for some reason, with my camera on a tripod everyone smiles and says hi to me Laughing

My camera has 10x optical zoom. No idea what that is in mm. As you can tell, I'm new to this photography business Very Happy

And cant wait to see what this camera comes out like. I dont have a macro lens but it seems to do a good enough job. Thumbs Up

I think I might have a go at this... it's a *reason* to take photos (and get the practice that I really need) rather than just carrying my camera around everywhere and not really seeing anything. If that makes sense!

Anyway, here's my proffering, from the beginning of the year

https://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs154.snc3/18147_368755135566_790925566_10120374_3515304_n.jpg

Better get the camera out in the morning for some nice sunrise/snow photos!

And unlucky for not making it onto the news - that photo of the lane is lovely (probably a bit too good for them)

If I had sent it in yesterday it would have had more chance of getting on as they were doing scenic pictures. Unfortunately, there wasn't as much snow yesterday.

I have a plan for tomorrow's picture which involves a 2-3 hour round trip up a big hill.
