Cotton ear buds

Doctors etc. strongly advise against putting cotton ear buds in your ears - in fact, they are just called cotton buds these days. In fact, it also says the same on the packet. Now, if you can't stick them in your ears, what else are you supposed to do with them? I can't think of a single thing!

I dunno, I've used cotton buds daily for years and years and never had a problem with my ears, either earache or blocked with wax or anything... whereas I know some people that never clean their ears and have had to get them syringed.

But aye, if you're advised not to use them then what are they used for? cleaning your beak? cleaning your ring? I dunno.

Not seen them advertised as cotton ear buds for ages though, just cotton buds.

I use them for me and the dog ... when were young .. motherdearest also used a metal hairclip .. anyone else ?? .. was at the doctors once and complained ...

Had to stop using them in my ears as cleaning all the wax out caused infections. Your ears are more than capable of keeping themselves clean. Scab-lifters are quite correct to advise against jabbing them in bodily orrifaces, I can imagine they could do some damage if inserted a little to far....

Yes, they can do ... best to do it yourself ... also some people come hard of hearing due to wax build up .. the docs have a shringe sucker thingymebob to sort that out

They are good for cleaning your mobile when you strip it once a month due to it getting full of fluff from being in your pocket...

Mother (nurse) says you never remove all the wax from your ear and end pushing the remaining wax up to your ear drum and making it all compact and shiz. Or something along those lines, was a couple of years ago since she told me

You don't, they clean themselves. I've never cleaned my ears and don't have wax dripping out of them. Occasionally, when I feel the need, I put my finger and give it a wiggle and sometimes get a bit under my nail. Friends at college where also baffled by not cleaning ears. I think it is weird to clean them!
