I've think I have put the wrong plugs in my GPX 400 R , I've put in DR9EA rather than DPR9EA-9, it runs fine but could I be causing a problem ? Haven't tried it under load as haven't had the weeks back yet.

You might get probs when the engine warms up and you are giving it some beans.

You are gonna need to set the correct gap. Thats what the 9 denotes, but as you have mentioned you need a .7mm gap otherwise the plug might not spark. no-one wants to be running on less cylinders than they actually have.

The "P" stand for "Projected Insulator Type"
The resistance is the same
Heat Value is the same
Thread reach is the same along with the thread size.

Its a 50/50 thing really IMO but im sure some-one else will come along with proper reasons for

i suspect the bike will run fine, the two plugs are the same size and heat range.

even with the incorrect gap wont be a killer and is easy to adjust.

the correct gap will be listed in your bikes manual. you can get a gapping tool that makes things very easy for a few quid.
