Bike slows until stop?

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and a bit of a newbie when it comes to motoring. This is pretty much copy and pasted from my yahoo answers question, because it sums it up.

I have a Honda nc-50 1981 model, and until two days ago I had no problems. Now while using it, the bike will hit about 20mph and start to slow down until eventually stopping. I have replaced the spark plug because it hadn't been replaced for 20 years (I am its most recent owner, as of two months ago). I am new to motoring, so I don't have much experience, I've heard it could be the ignition pack?

Its an old 2 stroke express ? With automatic choke, this could be sticking on & cause what you say , check the state of the plug . if its high very mileage it could be in need of a decoke or even a top end rebuild . first I would check & clean or replace the air filter . check for spark & for fuel getting to plug . Neutral

Thanks for the answer - Turns out it was the air vent in the fuel cap! I will clean the choke and replace the filter anyway because I want to keep this baby running!
