Keeping it short and simple, planning a little holiday.

(Not bike related, holiday as in holiday.)

Only be there a week, however it's 'where' exactly. I've never been to Spain, are there places to avoid, nicer places etc.

I understand it's pretty hot all over, but I want to burn. Sick of british weather.

Anyone reccomend towns, cities where it'll be good to stay?

Near a beach preferably, nightlife etc.

All I can say is, if a pretty looking lady offers to sell you a rose at a very cheap price on your first day whilst walking down to the beach, don't get out your wad of Euro's and ask her which note she wants.
She will help her self, her hand reaching for the big notes at the rear of the wad.
You will quickly find your self in a tussle on the side of the street grabbing your wad back, some of the notes will probably be ripped too.

Also don't be shocked if you find people in your room when you get back.
Ha ha ha, honestly, not joking!

Speaking from personal experience.
Aggressive sneaky little gritters those Spaniards!

I would go to peninsular of Halkidiki Greece, just as cheap, not to commercialised and nice people.
Or even Portugal, they like the English there because there economy relies on us, really nice people too.

Barcelona is very nice, I live there when I'm not at uni in the UK. Got a beach 5 minutes from a metro station, and the metro system is super connected and easy to use so chances are you'll be within walking distance to a station.
Nightlife can be a little pricey though if you go to the nicer places, but they do pour you ridiculous amounts of alcohol straight from the bottle compared to the UK
If you do consider Barcelona I can recommend places to go, and possibly get you on a couple of guest lists so you don't have to pay entry

South of Alicante / Mercia on the Costa Calida is about as hot as it gets in Spain, I've been in March as it's warm to hot during the day and cool at night.
